The TeleSpecialists TeleStroke Registry was established in January 2024, and The Collective is set to launch early this year. But the groundwork for these two efforts was laid much earlier in 2013, when TeleSpecialists, LLC. began providing TeleStroke services to hospital partners across the country, and shortly thereafter developed a robust Quality Program by 2016.
TeleStroke-specific data in community settings was limited, and most existing research focused on academic centers.
TeleSpecialists, LLC, recognized an opportunity to contribute meaningful insights to the stroke community.
A formal research program was subsequently launched in 2020, utilizing a third-party IRB and establishing a partnership with the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga for statistical support. The first conference presentation from this work occurred in 2021 at the International Stroke Conference, followed by the program’s first publication in 2022. Since then, the research program has continued to grow.
